Leading local artist Alister Colley – whose quirky, illustrative style has won him national acclaim – was so taken with the achievements of the restoration work at the Royal Hall, he decided to record the moment of its opening in two highly engaging renderings of the exterior and the interior, capturing the faces of everyone who attended. He made ten special artist’s proofs of each picture, and donated them to the Trust to help fund further restoration work. These prints are available for purchase from the Trust at £350 each or £600 for a pair.
